Story behind Last Dance
Maria and Michael Gross purchased a property in 2018 with the vision of building their new home . It is a beautiful hillside site, situated at a higher elevation and already planted with vines and fruit trees – the perfect place to realise their idea of a self sustaining agricultural cycle farm. Unfortunately, the vines had been poorly maintained in the years prior, leaving them with no real alternative but to remove the old vineyard and replant it. Before doing so, however, Maria and Michael wanted to honour the previous owners. The family had farmed this estate for more than 300 years, experiencing all the highs and lows that such a long history inevitably brings.
In many ways, this wine represents the “last dance” of this vineyard – a heartfelt homage to the previous owners and a way to preserve the memory and history of this special place.
